Cinephone Kids is born from the commitment of Cinephone Film Festival in collaboration with town halls, schools and institutes so that students can train and prepare themselves in audiovisual communication.
Through courses and workshops, students acquire different knowledge and skills on the audiovisual language, reaching to be able to make a short film from scratch with mobile phone. Each of the children learns to be directors, writers, light specialists, actors and actresses, editors, etc.
There have already been three editions of Cinephone Kids, and currently a fourth is being prepared thanks to the tandem generated between Torre Barrina (experiences of social innovation), the Escola Pere Llistart Institut and the Institut Margarida Xirgu de l’Hospitalet. So far, more than 500 fifth and sixth graders and ESO have participated.
The Cinephone Kids experience, learning to make movies from mobile, has been selected as Good Practice in the field of New Technologies, for this reason it has been included in the Banc of Bones Pràctiques of local governments, endorsed by the Fundació Pi i Sunyer and the Federació de Municipis de Catalunya.
The training we provide does not require any prior knowledge of the students. They will be trained from the beginning and at the appropriate level for their age for a correct understanding.
The workshops are taught to students from 5th grade onwards, raising the theoretical-practical level depending on the school year the students take.
Groups of 15-16 students maximum are formed, normally corresponding to 2 groups per class. They are 12-hour workshops divided into 3 main 4-hour blocks.
The training is carried out by qualified Cinephone collaborators, although the involvement of the teachers of the school or institute itself is important and this is done in our courses, with excellent results.
Cinephone takes care of everything necessary for the preparation prior to the workshops and to supervise the proper functioning during their course.
